Flow refers to flow in water and other fluids and atmospheric air and gasses, which also encompasses determination of air velocity (anemometry). Measurement of flow has significance for many areas in society, like process industry and utility companies, and it plays an important role in relation to climate and energy.

The Danish metrology laboratories (DI’s) in the flow field, administrated by FORCE Technology and Danish Technological Institute, are a part of the virtual “Flow Centre Denmark” and comprises:

“Water Flow (volume, mass, and energy)” at Danish Technological Institute
By measuring mass, time, and temperature the laboratory can offer testing and calibration of flow and heat meters up to DN 250 and 500 m3/h at water temperatures between 4 °C and 85 °C – click here for more information.

”Flow in Other Fluids than Water” at FORCE Technology
The laboratory, which covers measurements of oil, gas, liquid gas, etc., can carry out calibrations with volumetric flows as high as 400 m3/h. Click here for more information.

”Gas Flow” at FORCE Technology
With reference to the national metrology institute (NMI) in The Netherlands, this laboratory covers calibrations of gas flow meters with flow rates as high as 5000 kg/min. At present, the laboratory is working on primary realization of the reference through the European gas cubic meter. Click here for more information.

”Anemometry” at Danish Technological Institute
With traceable measurements of pressure, temperature, relative humidity, and length, the lab can measure air velocities as high as 28 m/s with traceability to Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) or pitot tubes. Click here for more information.
